Bērzpils. Devlog 2

Finally some time later a new devlog with fixes, new areas and thoughts about the release date.

Release date

Naturally, this is the most interesting part. I`m delighted to announce that I am actually capable of finishing version 0.4 (all that is intended in it, at least) this year. Hence, the release date is going to be somewhere in the last days of December. With that this is going to be the last devlog before the release.

Fixes

As it appears, I dug out my own hole (figuratively). BER, the electrical goods factory had the terminus labeled as 'ElektroFabrika' which is a synonym to 'ElektroRupnīca' that makes up BER, but in the first case it would be called BEF instead, so that was fixed: route #14 now terminates at 'ElektroRupnīca' (BER).

There aren`t as many fixes apart from that. Some cosmetic changes have been and will be made in already released areas to create a more realistic atmosphere for the map. Not that it was planned as realistic to begin with :)

New Routes

A bit of information on the routes introduced in the new release:

# 4 is going to be a 20-minute long drive from Autoosta to Egleslauks via Mūkuciems. It goes through the more populated area of Mūkuciems closer to the river. Hence, during workdays the frequency is 15 minutes in the peak hour and 30 minutes during other times. Weekends have two different services: one with an hour frequency follow the whole route and the other one being a mix between routes 4 and 14 terminates at Mūkuciems (this service will switch between 4 and 14 during the day).

# 4N is now merged with 1N. The service will now be a switch between those two. It will be active every night and will follow route 4 (except for the Dome diversion which all night route will follow) and terminate at Mūkuciems.

12 is a service that connects two remote areas of Egleslauks and Zīlciems via Mūkuciems (central and north parts). It will also continue on to Zīlciema Papīrfabrika during peak hours (rt 03 and 04). It is a 27 minute drive (30 if you`re going to Papīrfabrika) and is currently the longest drive within the map (#20 being in second place). In weekends its frequency drops from 60 to 120 minutes as it features a long 80-minute wait at one of the end points.

# 14 is a 17-minute drive from BER (past the depot) to Mūkuciems via the north part. The residential density is much lower in that area as compared to riverside, so the frequency is 20 minutes in peak, 40 mintes during weekdays and 120 minutes during weekends (see the switch 4_14 service).

Conclusion

The release is shaping out nicely and is giving me an idea of what I want to do next. I have already made plans for 0.5 and will start working on it as soon as I`m done with this one. Until the actual release stay safe and have a good time!
